Improvised Self Defense Weapons In Your Home. What Can You Use to Defend Yourself?

You’re sitting on your couch relaxing after a hard day at work. You’re half asleep so you don’t notice the sounds of someone moving around at your back door. What you do notice is when your door gets kicked in and a man in a ski mask jumps in. Unfortunately your gun is locked up in the safe in your bed room and there is no way you can get to it in time to do you any good. You know you’re going to have to improvise a weapon if you want to defend yourself so you grab….

A Clothes Iron.

Improvised Weapons

Yep just a plain old clothes iron can make a great weapon in a tight pinch. After all, you have a long cord with metal prongs at one end to use as a whip to keep the intruder at bay (at least by a few feet). Then, when you have an opening, you have a nice heavy, solid, blunt end to smack them with. Trust me, hitting him on the side of the head with a clothes iron will go a long way toward ending the fight. Plus, if you’ve ever been smacked with an electrical cord you know that can do more than just sting a bit!

Wasp Spray.

improvised weapons for self defenseHave any wasp spray at home? Notice how that stuff has a nice long range? Ever notice the warning label telling you not ingest it or get it in your eyes? Ever think of shooting it into a home invaders eyes? Just think of it as using wasp spray as self defense pepper spray. Is it going to get the burglar to give up and flee? Maybe, maybe not. Is it going to give you one hell of an advantage? YES!

A Kitchen Knife.
Self Defense techniquesObvious I know. The only thing I have to say about this one is if you don’t know how to knife fight you might want to check out this course HERE.

A Book.

improvised survival weaponsOkay, this is an interesting improvised weapon you can use for self defense. I don’t care if it’s a hard back or a soft cover, getting hit with the spine of a book can be quite painful. But be careful. This one isn’t as likely to do any major damage to your opponent unless you get the chance to chop down on the bridge of his nose or maybe the front of his throat. But still, beating the crap out of someone with a cheap little paper back book sure sounds interesting right? Might be the only actual value you can ever get from the Twilight Saga!

Salt and Pepper Shakers.

home made self defense weaponsYep salt and pepper shakers are another great way to temporarily blind your opponent. Just snap off the top and fling the contents into his face. Some of that stuff is likely to end up in his eyes and cause instant overwhelming tears. Should buy you enough time to grab your copy of Breaking Dawn and get a hit or two in!

Well, there is a few things you can use as improvised weapons for self defense at home. If you have anything to add feel free to let us know about it in the comment section! Can’t wait to hear from you!
